I write this ode to the Mastatal crew,
A summer where time and F bombs flew
To Timo and Robin and little Sole,
You created a haven and showed us the way.
As interns we came with desire in our eyes
To build and learn each morning we rise
We talk about poo in all shapes and forms,
Each of us ready to cast away norms.
Kristy decided to build us a coop,
a timber frame home for chickens to poop.
Despite being called Kevin it rose fast and tall,
with just Timo's strength she made believers of us all.
Dom quickly became the kitchen go-to girl,
Her bread was a wonder as her whisk she did whirl.
She eats and eats and yet rarely grows full,
and from time to time a bloke she could pull.
Lowri the mumbler brought smiles to my face,
Long walks, cervezas and because she's an Ace.
She'll take any joy from poo dancing to clay,
but often disappears for her 7 poops a day.
Aimee brought yoga to each early morn,
we tried to mimick her stellar headstand form.
She lives in the JFS but no always alone,
a nightly visitor brought an unwanted moan.
Jennie and Jason could build without flaw,
A shower soon rose from poo, clay, and straw.
The guided us fiercely with directions to call,
Thin walls! No sex, or that one could fall!
The Brits housed a chicken inside of their room,
over eggs and my laundry did Rachel loom.
Daniel looked skinny but packed a mean punch,
he'll haul loads of wood and be finished by lunch.
Herng dazzled us with her Asian delights,
Fried rice and dumplings on those weekend nights
She danced with the best as boys became men,
and somehow survived chiseling a home for a hen.
Liam and Cherie were a real Aussie treat,
Hangovers at Lilys to eat lots of meat.
A bottomless pit and a doctor or DJ,
They made Mastatal a bit better each day.
Sam the 17 year old was wise beyond age,
Except when he stumbled in his drunken haze.
He soon became the master of mayo and fire
And chased lots of tail till he had to retire.
Greg is the one who truly know all,
Oh wait, move that dirt I just made you haul
He kills bad snakes as he makes houses and food,
and Naked sushi night is sure to brighten his mood.
I leave Mastatal with much joy in my heart,
for the memories and laughter will remain when we part.
Of pizza and bingo and poo bricks galore,
If we're lucky enough, we'll come back for more!
