Stuck in Costa Rica.

Who would have ever thought that could be an undesirable thing? But here I am, stuck, waiting, frustrated. Our Nicaragua field trip is experiencing slight delays. Nicaragua is currently undergoing a transportation strike by taxi and public transportation workers because of high fuel prices. There are road blockades in major cities which prohibits traffic and food from getting in. Fuel shortages are also expected. Therefore, we are stuck in Costa Rica for the time being. Today we await the verdict. If the strike lessens, we maybe able to leave in the morning and just avoid some of the bigger cities in Nicaragua (easier said then done when roads are not a prevalent thing down here). Option 2 could be a spontaneous field trip to Panama. We are trying not to think about option 3. So this is life in Latin America. You never know what could happen and time is practically irrelevant. In the meantime, we have occupied ourselves by going to the local pool, playing with brand new puppies, and holding salsa dance lessons at our house while we wait. Perhaps I will learn something about patience down here.
