How many years does it take....

to get a whole family together at the beach?

60!!!!

Years of marriage that is! For Grandpa and Grandmas 60th wedding anniversary this summer, after 10 years of seperation, the Batemans, McLeans, Murphys, and Meiers all got together for some fun in the sun...or lack there of. Sun is always a risky venture on the Oregon Coast! Nevertheless, we piled into a rickety, old, and likely haunted beach house for some good food, laughter, and fun. The week was filled with many delights such as kayaking, hiking, swimming (in the freezing water), and beach campfires. There were also "flat" hikes and SoCo and Mountain Dew which weren't everyones favorite but provided enjoyment for a select few. Shaky face was a popular game, the one where you shake your face back and forth as fast as you can while someone takes a picture of you mid shake. There was also birdwatching, tide pooling, bike riding, and guacamole making. For a large group with diverse interests, we all got along like one big happy family. The only thing dysfunctional was the oven.
