We have a mouse. No, we have a SUPER mouse. His name is Redford. He can either climb 6 ft up a wall, jump 6 ft, or transcend through walls like Donald Shimoda. Internet search results are mixed as to whether the climb is possible. No matter what the case, this mouse is amazing. Because once Redford reaches the 6 ft tall shelf, he doesn't eat any of the food that is in open packages, but simple sits and poops. Poops a lot. And then scurries to a new spot and poops some more. But Redford completely ignores the cereal, chips, beans, and granola that are surrounding him.
Since we are a house of environmentalists, our consciousnesses will not yet let us set a mouse trap. We thought about covering the house in peanut butter, like they do on Weeds, but I think that only seems to be a good idea if you have been smoking. Other ideas include forming a stake-out and then throwing a bowl over the mouse, catching him with our bare hands and keeping him as a pet, and borrowing the neighbors cat. At least then the death would seem a bit more natural. Until we reach a solution, our days and nights will be filled with the scratchy scurrying of mouse feet. Redford watch has officially begun...and I promise to stop quoting weeds.
